Biography
At the heart of nature photographer Todd Ridge's art lies his affection for the simple, pure beauty of the natural world. Born in Marion, Virginia, he discovered the pleasure of trout fishing at an early age, and spent hours appreciating the beauty of the mountain streams he fished. At the age of twelve his family moved away from the peace of rural Virginia, and settled in fast paced Atlanta, Georgia. Todd longed for the simple quiet country life he had left behind.
At the age of sixteen he received his first camera, a gift from his mother, and he discovered what would become his life's passion, photography. Combining this passion with his deep love of the outdoors, Todd has been capturing the beauty of nature for twenty years.
His commercial photography has appeared in numerous publications including the Macromedia Studio MX Bible and Integrating Flash, Fireworks and Freehand f/x & Design, published by Coriolis and authored by Joyce H. Evans, and the periodicals Log Home Design Ideas, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing Today, Design News, Desktop Engineering, and MacWorld.
Todd Ridge now resides in Canton, Georgia, with his wife and two children. Attired in hiking boots, and shouldering over thirty pounds of camera gear, he explores the rivers, and hikes the mountains and woods of North Georgia, capturing for us, the stunning beauty of the area.
